Other Spaces: ET Building

The ET Building at QCC-CUNY sits just across the courtyard from the QCC Art Gallery
Aside from having the odd art object in or around its confines, the Engineering and Technology Building at QCC-CUNY is home to an amazing 3D printing lab that has given rise to some significant artistic expression. When you get a chance, stop by the lab and prepare to be impressed.

In the meantime, enjoy a sample of their 3D work below:

Art & Design @ QCC

The side entrance to the Art & Design Building shown in the distance.
Congratulations to the Art & Design Department at QCC-CUNY, as it has just received accreditation from the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD). QCC-CUNY is one of only 19 community colleges in the nation as well as the only art program in the CUNY system to receive this prestigious accreditation.

So, if you're interested in an elite art program that is also affordable, consider attending QCC, and perhaps some of your art will be exhibited at the QCC Art Gallery like the works shown below.

Rewoven Removed

Above you see Wave by Wen Fu Yu as it recently appeared at the QCC Art Gallery.

As with the rest of the amazing art of the Rewoven exhibit, it has recently been removed, but doubtless, something else will probably be hanging outside or protruding from the QCC Art Gallery pretty soon.

For those who missed the exhibit, enjoy the video highlights below while you look forward
to the next surprise from the Director of the QCC Art Gallery!

Friends of the QCC Art Gallery

What would we do without friends? Well Hobbes, for one, had an answer:

"Life outside of civil society would be nasty, brutish and short."
Katherine Stabile, former Chairperson of Social Sciences at QCC CUNY,
enjoys Big Daddy Turtle by Tony Monahan.
Luckily for most, that fate does not await them. Nor is it the fate of institutions like the QCC Art Gallery which has been blessed by so many friends. To see a small but affectionate array, click Friends of the QCC Art Gallery here or in the right sidebar.

QCC Art Film Fest: Asnin's Uncle Charlie

Marc Asnin's Uncle Charlie presented a stark and evocative exploration of one man's descent and a family's attempt to cope. What made this even more deeply personal? Asnin was documenting the experience of his own family.

This forthright and brave work served as the traveling exhibit for the QCC Art Gallery until it rounded off its tour with a return home. How appropriate.

Enjoy the short videography below.

Cultures at QCC: Hungarian

With a nod to its Asiatic roots and its profound entrenchment in twentieth century European modernism, Hungarian Art is unique in all the world. And so it is fitting that the QCC Art Gallery, another singular institution, should display works by masters like József Jakovits and many others.

Cultures at QCC: Cameroon

The QCC Art Gallery has exhibited work from around the world, and not in some peripheral way, as the depths of some cultures have been plumbed on more than one occasion. Cameroon is among these.
