Even the Babe Succumbed

Babe Ruth at the Oakland Golf Course in 1937

At left, in the foreground of the photo, is the unmistakable figure of one of the greatest sports icons in history, namely Babe Ruth!

The year was 1937, not long after his retirement from baseball, and evidently, he could not resist swinging something with great velocity and precision, if not a baseball bat, then a golf club.

Now, upon closer inspection, peek past the Babe and the smarmy oglers in back of him, and what do you see?
This photographic moment was caught in front of the Oakland Golf Course Clubhouse of Bayside, or as we know it today, the QCC Art Gallery.

So what is there to say but......Play Ball!
