Tom Christopher at the Student Union

Tom Christopher's Trinity Cab
Tom Christopher grew up "in the LA hot rod / skateboard culture" which influenced his art. His first work was for CBS Records, where his promotional posters received a gold record.

In 1981 he moved to New York City, and worked for the New York Times, People, Fortune and Wall Street Journal, as well as a courtroom artist for CBS news. He began creating fine art in the mid-1980's.

The work at left appears just inside the entrance of the QCC-CUNY Student Union, and is an early signature piece from Christopher's NYC paintings, focusing on prosaic scenes from NYC street life.

More recently, Christopher's efforts have been directed toward montage and silkscreen pieces that have shown at a number of prestigious international venues.
