It is written that man does not live by bread alone, but I always took this to mean that in addition to physical sustenance, we also require spiritual and intellectual sustenance, the sort that art provides. I didn't think it meant SODA!?
Nevertheless, a large vending machine has been placed on the third floor of the Humanities Building, dwarfing one of the finest pieces of sculpture that the QCC Art Gallery has shared outside its walls and obscuring it from the natural light in which it once bathed radiantly.
I suspect this is profitable in the narrowest sense, but not in the broadest or the truest sense. Perhaps a new location for this work can be found, because I'm inclined to think the vending machine will remain a fixture in this location for years to come. After all, when dollars and sense collide, sense nearly always loses.
