Other Spaces: Med Arts Architecture
Once upon a time, I heard that the Medical Arts Building at QCC-CUNY won some sort of architectural prize when it was first unveiled. And I must admit, I was at something of a loss. For though I am not as expert as my good friend and colleague Craig Weber, those irregular angles, modular, triangular and rhombus-shaped classrooms, wifi deadspots, crude connection to the Science Building, and mystery spaces unutilized on the uppermost floors failed to impress me.
And yet, on a sunny day, one looks to the sky and need not strain to see what others may have seen more clearly in an earlier day.
