Friday

Janusz Skowron's Last Day on Earth
as it appeared at the QCC Art Gallery
Rene Girard believed that the scapegoat mechanism is the foundation of cultural life, that natural man became civilized, not through some rational deliberation embodied in a social contract, but rather through the repetition of the scapegoat mechanism.

Further, he claimed that man was failing the test of history. For having experienced the truth, man has failed to recognize or implement it.

Due to the sacrifice of an innocent, the endless cycle of violence, repentance and exculpatory catharsis could be, but has not as yet been, superseded once and for all.

Something to consider on this Friday before Easter.
