Most Underrated Exhibit

Andy Warhol's The Shadow
Way back in 2004, after a successful run at the Circulo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, Spain, An American Odyssey, 1945/1980 - Debating Modernism arrived at the QCC Art Gallery.

The exhibition showcased works from such celebrated modern artists as: Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, Jasper Johns, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Frank Stella, Mark Rothko, and many more.

And though it was well-received at the time, I know it is a huge source of frustration for the Director, as the Gallery website is a confused muddle of low-resolution pics, with faulty references, and no associated video accompaniment. Thus, this hugely important retrospective is largely forgotten and under-appreciated by all but the most avid followers of the QCC Art Gallery.

At least, the volume produced to complement the exhibit is still available for those who may be interested. If you count yourself among their number, just click here or click the image at right to purchase this QCC Art Gallery Press publication. It's a bargain for all lovers of Modern Art, and it would make a nice gift for a loved one this X-mas too. Check it out.
