Woman in Yellow by Yelena Tyklina |
As early as the age of twelve, Yelena Tylkina, owing to her iconoclastic and outspoken nature, had her share of entanglements with Soviet officials, upbraiding them for their hypocrisy and aggression. To support herself, she held many odd jobs, but courageously never diverted from her aim: to express the truth.
Yelena’s “University of Life” was completed with honors, as was her formal art education, which included watercolor, acrylic, pastel, graphics, murals and portraiture.
And over the years, many galleries have been the beneficiaries of her talent, including our own QCC Art Gallery when it featured Yelena's Blossoms and Fantasies in 2008.
