We've all heard phrases like, "One should be one's own worst critic", but when it comes to art, we often defer to others to tell us what we ought to see or think or feel.
Well, it is my contention, that if we can judge ourselves, then we ought to be able to judge art and its meaning for us.
In fact, though art is an amorphous business by its very nature, there are certain considerations that any critic makes when judging a work.
