Kuba Textiles

The Kuba people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo are among the most design-conscious of all Africa’s native cultures. The surface of virtually every object made by the Kuba is covered with an abundant variety of abstract designs, none more beautiful than those of their textiles.

In 2009, it was the good fortune of the QCC Art Gallery to host the Kuba Textiles of The Sam and Mei-Ling Hilu Collection featured in the video below.
